In the fading light, I reach up and hold an apple in my hand. It rests there against the stars just visible through the branches. I smell its sharp-sweet flesh, sense its mystery. I’m holding life and legends in one hand.

We can experience the “new delight” of beauty, surprise, and insight even when we are re-routed, even when the road we want to travel is closed, even when life both inside and out becomes puzzling.
I have often said that change is inevitable, and this pandemic has been a totally unexpected adjustment for us all. But we survive and we continue on filled with hope and Love.
1. LISTEN. Listen to what Indigenous peoples are saying. Put down your defences, listen to their stories, their calls to action and don’t believe that you know what is best. You will never face their realities or fully understand. Listen.
Our ability to feel gratitude has a fundamental effect on our approach to life. Practise gratitude and you automatically promote humility. Why is that so?
I wonder if this common experience will open our hearts to be more compassionate and more loving toward each other. I have faith that we will all feel closer and be full of loving-kindness.
