In the fading light, I reach up and hold an apple in my hand. It rests there against the stars just visible through the branches. I smell its sharp-sweet flesh, sense its mystery. I’m holding life and legends in one hand.

Today we celebrate Earth Day. Following are some ways that the United Church Of Canada suggests how we can show our appreciation for the earth, the sea, and the sky.
Solitude begins with a time and place for our Higher Power, and the Higher Power alone. In solitude, we encounter not only the Creator but also our true self.
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became an adult, I put the ways of childhood behind me. Letting go of that which clings to us, is liberating.
Continuing up the Bright Angel Trail, we completed the thirteen- hour pilgrimage. My focus was very much on the present and prayer for strength to survive.

You are our guiding light through days and months that seem to be unclear. May we as your children remain passionate about a future that can bring about unexpected, life-giving experiences.
This Easter Sunday we are celebrating the Sacrament of Communion. Remember to have your bread prepared and your choice of drink ready for Christ’s feast.
I pray you are finding new ways to make special memories for your children and youth, and that thinking about celebrations from your own childhood brings a smile to your heart.
Jesus’ identity as shepherd and his leadership of the flock are determined not by outside authority but by the community of the sheep and their ability to discern their leader.
