Good Evening and Blessings
All life on Earth is connected to the ocean and its inhabitants. The more you learn about the issues facing humanity’s vital life support system, the more you’ll want to help ensure its health—then share that knowledge to educate and inspire others to be the change we want to see in the ocean.
Global warming, combined with the negative impacts of numerous other human activities, is destroying the oceans, with alarming declines in fish stocks, the death of our reefs, and sea level rise that could displace hundreds of millions of people.
Every little change that we each make can help toward defending the oceans. We can begin by eliminating plastic which is the most damaging to the ocean.
Keep safe, Keep connected.
Blessings and the strength of Love be with you.
Rev. Mary,
Reading Genesis 1:9-10, 20-23 (MSG)
Creator spoke: “Separate!
Water-beneath-Heaven, gather into one place;
Land, appear!”
And there it was.
Creator named the land Earth
and named the pooled water Ocean.
Creator saw that it was good.
Creator spoke: “Swarm, Ocean, with fish and all sea life!
Birds, fly through the sky over Earth!”
The huge whales were created,
all the swarm of life in the waters,
And every kind and species of flying birds.
Creator saw that it was good
and blessed them: “Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Ocean!
Birds, reproduce on Earth!”
It was evening, it was morning—
Day Five.
Prayer
Spirit Creator
When we are at a loss for ideas about being a positive influence on the ocean, remind us that everything that is, is holy. When we are about to make a choice that will add to the destruction of the ocean, motivate us to consider other choices that will protect the needs of all creation, especially the oceans, that sustains life.
Create in us, a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within us. (Psalm 51:10)
Amen
