In the fading light, I reach up and hold an apple in my hand. It rests there against the stars just visible through the branches. I smell its sharp-sweet flesh, sense its mystery. I’m holding life and legends in one hand.
Weekly Message from Brenda Pielle for Family Fun: “Spring has sprung, the grass has “riz” (risen), I wonder where the birdie is? The bird’s upon the wing, but that’s absurd, the wing’s upon the bird!”
This brought home to me in a personal way how true it is that if even one small part of the body is hurting, the whole body hurts, and when relief or healing takes place for that one part, the whole body can feel better.
God who created the rainbow of promise, and all the vibrant colours of life that surround us, We thank you that you have given us eyes to see, and hearts to feel.
May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
I pray that you may have your roots and foundation in love, so that you, together with all God's people, may have the power to understand how broad and long, how high and deep, is Christ's love.
Jesus never asked us to be “pie-in-the-sky-by-and-by” kind of people. Jesus said that whatever we do for one of “the least of these” (the poorest and most helpless people) we do it for him.
