Heart of Wisdom

Message of the Day from Rev. Mary White

Good Afternoon and Blessings

“Praise and blame, gain and loss, pleasure and pain, fame and disrepute are the eight worldly winds. They ceaselessly change. As a mountain is unshaken by the wind,so the heart of a wise person is unmoved by all the changes on this earth.”
Buddha

I wonder what wisdom means to you?

I understand that we may have examples of a wise person and a different understanding of its meaning.

Today I am sharing my understanding.

A wise person is filled with compassion, loving-kindness, gratitude, joy, and peace. They have a charitable, respectful spirit, and forgiveness is continuous and from the heart.

Keep safe, Keep connected.

Blessings and the strength of Love be with you.

James 3:13 (MSG)

[Live Well, Live Wisely]

Do you want to be counted wise, to build a reputation for wisdom? Here’s what you do: Live well, live wisely, live humbly. It’s the way you live, not the way you talk, that counts. Mean-spirited ambition isn’t wisdom. Boasting that you are wise isn’t wisdom. Twisting the truth to make yourselves sound wise isn’t wisdom. It’s the furthest thing from wisdom—it’s animal cunning, devilish conniving. Whenever you’re trying to look better than others or get the better of others, things fall apart and everyone ends up at the others’ throats.

Prayer of the Day

Spirit of Harmony

In the beginning, when you blew life throughout the world, Sophia, Wisdom, was with You. While in this situation of quiet existence blow that same wisdom through each one. Help us to discern with love and compassion our attitudes toward others. And when the occasion arises, may we be accessible to others in a non-judgemental way. When we are back together be with us as we greet our friends and neighbours with love that is found wherever we are.

We pray this as we move forward in hope.

Amen
