Message of the Day from Rev. Mary White
Good Afternoon and Blessings
Today is day 12 of a 14 day mandatory self-isolation for those travelling from outside the Atlantic provinces to Nova Scotia. I have yet to see my brother, but we have spoken by phone. He is failing more each day and is receiving higher dosages of medication to ease his. pain.
Being alone without physical communication lends us the opportunity to look deep within to appreciate the joys that all life has to offer. It helps us to vision a better world full of love and hope. Isolation generates clarity and deeper understanding of the self. And brings us closer to our Higher Power.
I send my love and appreciation to you all, especially I am thankful to Wendy Barker, and Trudy Simpson for contributing well written daily “Thoughts for the Day” and prayers.
I am happy to be back serving with Love.
Keep safe, Keep connected.
Blessings and the strength of Love be with you.

Philippians 2:1-4
If you’ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care— then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.
Prayer Of the Day
Triune God
You know our every thought and all that is sincerely heartfelt. Being in this Powell River United community of the Spirit means everything to us and we are grateful to have the love and support of each other. May Your grace hold us up through our challenges and labours that life brings. Give us the strength and courage to walk through the difficult times, the pandemic times and bring us to a soothing place of peace.
May we continue to be in the warmth of your embrace. We pray in the name of Creator, Prince of Peace, and Comforter.
Amen
