Autumn Whisper

Something to Ponder • Message from Reverend Mary

As we move into the Autumn of our lives, there is a certain freedom that we experience. This liberation comes with accepting ourselves without concern for what others’ opinions are of us. We have lived life experiences that have moved us to where we are supposed to be. We are unable to control others’ thoughts, but we can control ourselves.

Through introspection, knowing our personal likes and dislikes gives us permission to let go of the baggage that controlled our thoughts. This is our time to relax and take care of ourselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. In the Autumn years, we are filled with hope and wisdom to carry us onward, forward.

Stay safe. Stay connected.

Blessings and the strength of Love be with you.

Reading • Fall Equinox by Molly Remer

There is a change in the air. It is traced by the wandering path of silent nighthawks migrating across grey clouded skies. The seas seethe and ripple with change, the earth heaves and rumbles, the trees bend low offering up their leaves, plants are turning their faces to seed. Our bodies ebb and flow through so much change, ever unfolding. Standing here we can feel the world spin, can feel change whisper, shriek, and howl. There are hurricanes, nighthawks, there is a great pulse running through it all. May we listen. May we bear witness. May we change.

As we slip into liminal space of the Equinox, we may find ourselves wavering between action and stillness. We hear the cries of our sisters, from times long past and times yet to come. They urge us to seize both our joys and courage and set forth, beneath a rising moon beside a ravenous sea, eyes cast upwards to catch the silver lining as it breaks forth behind the clouds, feet moving together with resolute purpose, onward and forward.

Prayer

Creator of the generations as we live into the Autumn years of our lives, continue guiding us on this life path.

May we be thankful for all that has and will continue to bless us. May we find a sacred space to be in appreciation with your creation. And may love embrace all that we are and will become. In the name of Christ, we pray.

Amen
