Remaining Faithful with Reverend Mary White
Thoughts to Ponder
Being an introvert, it has been necessary throughout my existence to take time away, away from the busyness that draws us into our daily living. The spirit of introverts is revitalised during times of alone silence. Without occasional leave-taking, spiritual energy decreases and we fail to function to our greatest ability. We lose connection with our Higher Power and our ego is set in motion to take a dominant position. When this happens, we tend to overlook the concept of other and miss opportunities to demonstrate loving connections.
Stay safe. Stay connected.
Blessings and the strength of Love be with you.

Reading Excerpt from Joyce Rupp • Come Away and Rest Awhile
Constant Hope: Reflections and Meditations to Strengthen the Spirit
“Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.”
– Mark 6:31
Henri Nouwen wisely noted: “Somewhere we know that without a lonely place our lives are in danger.” Jesus and Nouwen were not referring to loneliness. They were urging a temporary departure from others in order to have essential space for a healthy inner life. Jesus’ invitation came from his immersion in constant activity. People hungered for his presence and healing abilities. He knew the value of going apart for prayer and renewal. Every person needs some solitude. “Going apart” does not mean being alone to catch up on social media. Rather, solitude involves a deliberate pause, letting go for a while of whatever grabs our attention.
Prayer
Beloved One
deepen and strengthen my faith so that I can see with new eyes and hear with new ears the signs and signals of your presence in my own world. It is my allowing distractions which keeps me from being fully aware of your powerful actions here and now. You are present; you work wonders no less today than in the days of your life with your disciples. Let me be so taken by what you show me and by what you say to me that your vision and hearing become my guide in life and impart meaning to all my concerns.
Stay with me always.
Amen
