Message of the Day from Rev. Mary White
Good Afternoon and Blessings
Blue Monday, Really??
“Monday 18 January marks 'Blue Monday', the most depressing day of the year. It's the day when the financial pressure of the Christmas just passed hangs over us most, the weather is at its worst, and the extra pounds we've acquired over the holiday season are proving harder to shift than we anticipated.”
I wonder who decides to put these concepts into the minds of the general population. There is no such thing as a most depressing day. The Christmas season is a time for hope and joy which doesn’t end because the joy continues. I believe, sadly, that this ‘Blue Monday” describes those whose focus is on materialistic things and don’t have a relationship with a Higher Spirit.
Each day we are given life, is a day to be celebrated.
Keep safe, Keep connected.

Reading • 1 Corinthians 10:13 (TLB)
But remember this—the wrong desires that come into your life aren’t anything new and different. Many others have faced exactly the same problems before you. And no temptation is irresistible. You can trust God to keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can’t stand up against it. For God has promised this and will do what has been said, will show you how to escape temptation’s power so that you can bear up patiently against it.
Prayer
Hopeful Spirit
We know who we are and whose we are. Through You, we are people of hope. May we summon up the power within to get beyond the temptation to fall into hopelessness. May we continue to think positively about our future and know that we have the support of You through our faith community. We, being people of strength and courage, have a vision of a loving community being physically together again. We pray for Your ongoing presence, our Ultimate Equalizer of the universe. In Christ name.
Amen.
