Thanksgiving Weekend Message from Rev. Mary White
Happy Thanksgiving.
This is Thanksgiving weekend and a time for remembering with gratitude those whom we are blessed to share our world and to give thanks for the abundance that we are given. It is also a time for sharing some of what we have to help support the greater community.
In Cape Breton, there is a program called “Fill The Bus”. A transit system bus is used to gather food for the local foodbank. The goal is to fill the bus with various food items. This is always a big success and it reminds me of Jesus feeding the thousands.
Keep safe, Keep connected.
Blessings and the strength of Love be with you.

Mark 8:6-10 (MSG)
So Jesus told the crowd to sit down on the ground. After giving thanks, he took the seven bread loaves, broke them into pieces, and gave them to his disciples so they could hand them out to the crowd. They also had a few fish. He pronounced a blessing over the fish and told his disciples to hand them out as well. The crowd ate its fill. Seven sacks of leftovers were collected. There were well over four thousand at the meal. Then he sent them home. He himself went straight to the boat with his disciples and set out for Dalmanoutha.
Prayer Of The Day
Gracious Giver
We have been given so much that at times, we take for granted what we have. We forget that our very life is given as a gift to be cherished. We are meant to be in relationship and though at this time, it is difficult to physically associate with others, help us find creative ways to sustain our faith community. We have been blessed with Love given freely; may we creatively share that Love with others. As we give to others as we are able, give us the power to appreciate all life experiences. We pray this in the name of the One Who gave the most.
Amen
